What are Service Times?

Our Contemporary Worship Service is at 8:45AM in the chapel and our Traditional Worship Service is at 11AM in the main sanctuary on Sundays. Sunday School classes for all ages begin at 10:00AM. We also have a Sunday evening service at 6:00 in the main sanctuary. For more details, click on our Calendar of Events!

How do I get to FBCJ?

We are located in downtown Jackson at 214 College Ave., on the corner of College and E. Rose St. directly across from the White Smith Memorial Library. To view a map, click here.

Is there handicap access?

Yes, there is handicap parking available on the side and rear of the building and there is a handicap ramp on the Rose St. side of the building that will bring you into the front entrance where an usher will be available to assist any further needs that you may have.

What happens when I get there?

Our greeters will meet you at the door with a church bulletin, a friendly face and the answers to any questions you have. Ushers will help you find a seat that fits your comfort level either on the floor downstairs or in the balcony.

Will childcare be provided and is it mandatory?

Childcare is provided for children age infant-5 yrs. It is completely optional and if your child is more comfortable sitting with you, that is absolutely acceptable.

What happens if I arrive late?

No problem! Our ushers will help you find a seat as quickly and discreetly as possible.

What is the worship service like?

Services generally last about an hour. Our 8:45 Contemporary service is held in the Chapel and is led by a vocal team and praise band. Our 11:00 Traditional service features choir and traditional hymns mixed with some familiar worship choruses. Pastor Tim Huie brings the same Bible-based message at both morning worship services. On the last Sunday of the month, we only have one service so that all of our congregation can meet together. It is held at 11:00 in the main Sanctuary and is a blend of both Contemporary and Traditional music.

How are guests greeted?

Before worship, our greeters and ushers will warmly welcome you to our church. During worship, our Pastor will ask everyone to stand and greet those around them. Guests may participate if comfortable doing so, however, we are interested in knowing more about you so there are pads available behind each pew with a sign in sheet where you can request more information or just indicate that you were with us for the service. You can drop them into the offering plate when it is passed.
